I went on a nature walk with my parents tonight. Right away we saw a fox at the edge of the forest. As we went into the forest I saw that the night was constantly being lit up with fireflies. When we went deeper into the woods I saw that there were a few bats flying around. When it turned from evening to night it became silent, but as we neared a pond I heard frogs croaking loudly. It was much colder outside of the forest than inside.

Today I saw a baby mocking bird learning to fly. But when I got to close it ran away. I did get to hold it but I let it go.

The other day, I was out in my backyard. My Mom screamed. I asked her what was wrong, and she said that she had seen a mouse scurrying by her feet. She said it was really close to her. I just wandered why a mouse would get so close to a  human.

I was bird watching at a local park and observed three birds, a Cardinal, Blue Jay and Starling. It was a lot of fun, and having the right binoculars I purchased from you made the exprerince all the more rewarding.

I couldn't say no when my next door neighbor called and told me they had a baby robin needing care. She said it wouldn't stay in the nest, and knowing her outside cat would get it, I had to bring it home.  From this point the story begins...click on, "Join Our forum" for complete story.

They come back every morning to see what they can get in "handouts," and of course I put their favorite blueberries in their dish. After filling tummies, they hop up in their tree inside the aviary and take a nap for a while. After about an hour or so they have another blueberry snack, they fly out into the wide open territory of our 3 acres and "pretend" they are robins.....until they want more blueberries, then they fly into the aviary, eat, nap, and do it all over again. It was such a joy to give them a chance at life, and now to have them return when they want, that's just icing on the cake.
